Big Growth, Opportunities for Mobile Marketing in India

According to a recent report from Gartner, mobile is big in Mumbai. In fact, across India today, mobility solutions are now among the fastest growing tech trends of 2014.

“We have identified the top 10 technology trends and drivers Indian companies should factor into their strategic planning processes,” said Vishal Tripathi, principal research analyst at Gartner. “This does not necessarily mean adoption and investment in all of the listed technologies is essential, but companies should look to make deliberate decisions about them during the next two years.”

Consequently, mobile marketing has experienced strong, steady growth inside of the Indian marketplace this year.

Just last week, the Mobile Marketing Association announced finalists for Third Edition of the MMA SMARTIES India 2014.

And according to those close to this year’s awards program, the expansion and corresponding spike in sophistication of the mobile marketing campaigns in India has been notable during the last twelve months.

“Things in the mobile marketing space are only getting more exciting, providing more opportunities for brands to get closer to their customers,” said Rohit Dadwal, Managing Director of MMA APAC. “The response that we have received this year is very encouraging and demonstrative of the growing potential of mobile marketing in India. The platform provides a good opportunity for professionals and students representing varied industries to obtain insights into breakthrough mobile strategies adopted by brands and agencies.”

Winners of the MMA SMARTIES India 2014 Awards will be announced at a Gala Dinner on Friday, September 11th, at The Palladium Hotel, in Mumbai, following the MMA Forum (India), which also takes place on the same day.
