Industry leaders from member-companies of the Mobile Internet Content Coalition (MICC) met with public interest group Public Knowledge in Washington D.C. recently to discuss a lack of openness in mobile SMS commerce.

The event — which included participation from industry leaders Jeff Sass, VP of Myxer; Jed Alpert, CEO of Mobile Commons and Jared Reitzin, CEO of mobileStorm — began with the aforementioned leaders speaking with the FCC to explain some of the problems and barriers providers of SMS commerce face in today’s SMS ecosystem.

After a day at the FCC, the companies participated in a round table discussion to describe their experiences.  Here’s video coverage of that discussion…
